The Madness

FAU star Johnell Davis accidentally curses in post-game interview, is told “that’s alright … we’re on truTV”

This may offend some people, and for that we apologize, but we’re gonna go out on a limb and say it anyway:

FAU vs. Farleigh Dickinson wasn’t exactly the biggest match up in March Madness history.

On Sunday night, the pair of anti-blue-bloods squared off in a not-so-marquee 9/16 showdown on truTV. If you weren’t watching (because you probably weren’t), sophomore FAU guard Johnell Davis ran the show from the opening tip, scoring 29 while leading the Owls to their first-ever Sweet Sixteen berth.

After the game, Davis, still riding that emotional high, was asked by March Madness reporter Jamie Erdahl if he still feels he has something to prove, to which he replied, “I’ve been trying to prove this sh*t since day one.” Realizing he just cursed on live TV, Davis immediately looked sheepish, but Erdahl quickly reassured him with one of the best soundbites of the tourney so far. Take it away.

We don’t know if Erdahl ultimately meant “that’s alright, we’re on truTV so no is watching” or “that’s alright, we’re on truTV, the network that brought you ‘Hardcore Pawn’,” but either way it works. Regardless of how you feel about Davis cursing live on truTV, however, I think we can all agree it’s better than watching Sergio Garcia pee in the bushes on CW+.
