On Tuesday, the 2026 Presidents Cup got rolling as players and media arrived at Medinah for the 16th edition of the U.S. vs. Internationals event. The expectation is that there won't be a lot of intrigue on the course with the International team having lost ten straight and once again playing sans LIV pros, but there's always plenty of drama in the concessions tent, where beer prices have become the talk of the gallery once again.

In contrast to the downright exploitative pricing we've seen at majors and Ryder Cups over the past decade, however, the buzz around the 2026 Presidents Cup beer prices is ... pretty good actually? In a sports world where $16 Bud Lights have become the rule not the exception, a Goose Island for $11.50 is a step in the right direction. If you're looking to pench some pennies (and calories), the Michelob Ultra clocks in at $10.50, which is not too far off what a gallon of gas will cost soon. So have heart, gallery goers. Maybe all our complaining has finally paid off.

Ordinary golfers would give anything to have the ability of their professional counterparts. "If only I could hit a high draw like that, I could die happy," we've all thought while glued to the TV on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

The thing that makes golf so compelling, however, is that no matter skilled/rich/famous you get, perfection always lies just out of reach. Don't believe us? Just ask four-time DP World Tour winner Robert MacIntyre, who had some choice words for himself after missing the fairway on the par-4 1st at Wentworth on Friday. Sound up.

Of course, MacIntyre is better than 99 percent of golfers on earth, and a short while later he proved it, holing out from the fairway for eagle on No. 15 and backing that up with another superbird on No. 17. Still, it goes to show that there is no such as perfection or satisfaction in this game. All any of us can do—including our self-deprecating friend Mr. MacIntyre—is to keep on keeping on.

Page air-traffic control because that is sky-scraping stuff from Alex Noren, who began his BMW PGA Championship defense at Wentworth on Thursday. The Swede missed his tee shot on the par-3 5th hole just to the right of the green but recovered for a kick-in par thanks to this remarkable bit of improvisation. The shot evoked the short-game magic of a certain disgraced former major winner and provided a reminder of a not-so-distant past when pros would play the shots they felt in the moment, not the ones analytics told them to. Those were the days, kids. Those were the days ...

The 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor is still over a year away. The 2026 Presidents Cup hasn't even happened yet. But that hasn't stopped the European side from getting a headstart on the competition. On Wednesday, a large group of Euro Ryder Cuppers gathered at Adare Manor for a scouting trip as they began their quest for a third consecutive Ryder Cup victory. Watch it and wince.

As Jamie Kennedy reports, most of the heavy hitters were in attendance, including Jon Rahm, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Tyrrell Hatton and Viktor Hovland, as well as captain Luke Donald and his contingent of vice-captains. Fitzpatrick was seen walking in match-winning putts while Rahm called the trip "very enjoyable" and said it was "great for all of us to see each other and just in a way remember why we do what we do."

There's a long way to go between now and next September, of course, but from the looks of things, the U.S. squad is set to start the Ryder Cup on their heels once again.

Folks, the Irishman has done it again ... and we're not talking about winning the Irish Open for a second time. We're talking about the celebration. Following his 2019 Open Championship victory at Royal Portrush, Lowry was seen singing his heart out in a local pub with claret jug held aloft. It remains one of the great Open coronations of the social media age, and on Sunday, Lowry repeated the trick at a local pub, only this time with a trophy different trophy in hand.

What were Lowry and co. crooning about? Courage? Glory? The rolling emerald hills of Ireland? As it turns out, none of the above. Instead Lowry and his local drinking buddies were singing a tune that Offlay Gaelic football supporters use to mock their rivals Westmeath. We guess it's true what they say: You can take the player out of the game, but you can't stop the player from "taking the p*ss" ... or something like that.

On Friday morning at the Irish Open, Richard Mansell bounced back from opening-round 76 with a Doonbeg-course-record 63. The 13-shot turnaround helped Mansell make the cut and put him in the driver's for the $30,000 low-round-of-week bonus, but the latter didn't stick. Just a few hours later, Shane Lowry one-upped Mansell (literally), firing a 62 to put his name at the top of not only the leaderboard, but the Doonbeg record books.

The native Irishman now sits at 11-under heading into the weekend, three strokes clear of Haotong Li and Jacob Olesen in second. Mansell, meanwhile, find himself at one-under par, 10 strokes back of Lowry in a tie for 36th.

Boy do we have a doozy for you. On Wednesday, Bryson DeChambeau, one of the most polarizing figures in all of golf, dropped a new YouTube video starring one of the most polarizing figures in all of television, Stephen A. Smith, filling in as his caddie. Needless to say, if you're a fan of hate watches, this is the best thing since the 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.'

In fairness to both DeChambeau and Smith, both have plenty of genuine fans, but neither's appeal would be as big it is without the army of haters they have courted over the years. Both understand the engagement game on a sub-atomic level, and play into it at every available opportunity. So what happens when they join forces? Will it be golf content gold or the equivalent of two nuclear warheads colliding in space? You'll just have to watch and find out. That's half the fun, after all.

"Blockie" has divided opinion since his coming-out party at Oak Hill in 2023. Some have found his antics endearing or, at the very least, amusing from afar. Others ... well, let's just say they find Block to be a bit much. According to the 50-year-old on Sirius XM's Wagyu & Filet podcast this week, however, he's still learning, especially on the PGA Tour Champions, which has inspired him to cut two signature moves from his repetoire.

"I watched my first Champions Tour appearance at the Dick's [the 2026 Dick's Open], and a couple times I do this like putter drop ... and I'm like 'that's disgusting, I'm not doing that anymore," Block told hosts Johnson Wagner and Brendon de Jong.

"So I haven't done that [since]. And then at the Ally, I'm doing this pointing thing and pointing at the camera. The whole reason for pointing at the camera is like, I'm pointing at my boys who are watching back in Orange County ... then I looked at it from a different point of view, and my dad said never to point at anybody. It's a rude gesture ... so that's a new thing for me now. You won't see me pointing at the cameras anymore."

So will we be getting a new, softer Michael Block going forward? It sounds like somewhat, but here's hoping he doesn't go too far. A little refinement is good and fine, but there are plenty of soulless robots in golf already. Michael Block, for better or worse, is one of a kind.

This week, the American Solheim Cup team arrived in the Netherlands looking for their first road victory since 2015. With the men's Ryder Cup squad still reeling from the Beatdown at Bethpage, the onus is on Nelly Korda and co. to restore some glory to the stars and stripes. On Tuesday, the American caddie contigent attempted to do just that, storming the gates of Bernadus Golf to the roar of Bruce Springsteen's long-misunderstood classic, "Born in the U.S.A." Unfortunately, the song choice, as has the been the case time and time again since its release in 1984, was well wide of the mark.

Apparently, the well-meaning loopers didn't get the memo that "Born in the U.S.A.," despite its rah-rah sound, is anything but a celebration. In fact, the song was originally written by Springsteen as a criticism of America's treatment of Vietnam War veterans, with lyrics like "Got in a little hometown jam / So they put a rifle in my hand / Sent me off to a foreign land / To go and kill the yellow man" painting a clear picture.

Despite the song's true message, it continues to be played everywhere from American political rallies to international sporting events like the Solheim Cup. Whether the contined misinterpretation of "Born in the U.S.A." is an honest mistake or intentionally revisionist depends on the user and use case, but here's hoping the Americans tweak the playlist before we embarrass ourselves on the world stage yet again.

There's plenty of uncertainty surrounding Jon Rahm's playing future, but this week he's focused on a more pressing unknown: Trump International Doonbeg. The two-time major winner has never played the modern links classic, but will be teeing it up at the Amgen Irish Open this week. On Tuesday, we got a first look at Rahm's first look of Doonbeg alongside caddie Adam Hayes, and it's exactly the sort of granular, behind-the-curtain content that golf fans crave. Check it out.

Come for the player-caddie chit chat and stay for Rahm's frozen-rope two-iron. SHEESH. With shots like that, Rahm should have an answer for everything Doonbeg throws at him this week. As for the rest of the questions he's likely to face in Ireland, unfortunately his looper can't help with those ...
