Rory McIlroy will be spending even more time with his good buddy Shane Lowry next year.
The Ryder Cup teammates are now TGL teammates following the first-ever trade in league history.
McIlroy's Boston Common Golf acquired Lowry on Monday from the Bay Golf Club for Boston's fourth pick in the upcoming roster formation process, one additional pick over the next three seasons and "commercial considerations," as reported by Sports Business Journal's Josh Carpenter.
After finishing in last place during TGL's inaugural season, Boston Common Golf finished atop the regular season standings in 2026. However, McIlroy's squad was knocked out in the semifinals by Jupiter Links Golf Club.
It's been a busy offseason in TGL with the league adding its first expansion team, Motor City Golf Club. Five-time major champ Brooks Koepka became the first player drafted by the new team.
TGL also renewed its media-rights partnership with ESPN earlier this month. The third season starts Dec. 27.
