When Nature Calls

Sergio Garcia appears to take a live leak on LIV Golf broadcast (not that anyone was watching)

It’s been a tough start to LIV Golf season two. With the controversy over its very existence muted, the interest in the shiny new thing dulled and the influx of PGA Tour talent slowing to a drip, LIV Golf has struggled to find traction in its sophomore campaign. This weekend, up against March Madness and a Jordan Spieth run at the Valspar, LIV Golf’s CW ratings plunged to new lows, dropping like the nighttime temps in Tucson.

Yeeouch. Those who did watch, however, were greeted by the highest standard of professional golf, including Sergio Garcia—noted guardian of the golf course—seemingly taking a leak in the bushes in a plain view of the broadcast cameras. “Sh*tshow” doesn’t even begin to describe it.

If this is what it looks like it is, it says a lot. First, that the crowds at The Gallery Golf Club were so small, these guys felt comfortable whipping it out like Michael Douglas playing with Catherine Zeta. Second, that Sergio's behavioral "exceptions" over the years have now become the rule. Finally, that despite the billions of dollars in its offshore bank accounts, LIV Golf remains a complete and total circus. Unless that changes, neither will golf.

Now if you’ll excuse us, nature calls.
