Justin Thomas reveals he has big plans with Patrick Mahomes if they both win on Sunday

February 08, 2023

Justin Thomas traded in his golf clubs for a microphone on Tuesday as the PGA Tour star attended Super Bowl Media Day to ask Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts questions. He also revealed he has big plans with the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback if a couple things go their way on Sunday.

"Well, I met Patrick Mahomes at the F1 race in Miami last year and we joked that, they win the Super Bowl, I win the Waste Management, and we're going straight to Vegas," Thomas said.

We'd have to assume that little adventure would include some golf. In a clip of Thomas playing reporter, he talks about wanting to play with the NFL MVP in the off-season and he asks Mahomes about possibly using his ankle injury as a way to negotiate for more strokes on the course.

That leads to Mahomes being the latest person to question Aaron Rodgers' handicap this past week when he and Ben Silverman claimed the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. "I heard Aaron let something negotiate his strokes out at Pebble Beach," he said. "But I just heard that second hand. That's not what I'm saying."

Here's the video:

As for the potential trip with Thomas, a lot would have to go right. The Chiefs are underdogs in a playoff game for the first time in Mahomes' career, and although Thomas is one of the favorites to win this week's Waste Management Phoenix Open—and our anonymous tour caddie's pick—he currently has odds of about 20-to-1. He also has another PGA Tour designated event next week in the Genesis Invitational.

"I'm not sure how that would be for my Genesis prep next week, or how that would be in terms of our agents, but I'd love to find out," Thomas added.

So would we, JT. So would we.
