The 10 best showers in golf, ranked by our experts
You know you’re deep in an elitist golf conversation when the topic turns to a club’s showers. Any non-golfer who overhears your chatter will think you’re strange for raving about the water pressure of a locker room showerhead. If they only knew…
An underrated perk of playing a course ranked on our America’s 100 Greatest or 100 Greatest Public Courses lists is the access to luxurious locker-room amenities that often rival many spas. If you’re lucky enough to have a few extra minutes after your round, we recommend trying out the facilities (but remember our rules for being a courteous country-club guest).
The best showers in golf, as ranked here by our 1,800-plus course-rating panelists, are subjective, of course—but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some fundamentals to a great shower. Large shower heads, powerful water pressure and luxurious amenities all scored extra points with our well-bathed panelists.
As you might expect, the ranking is dominated by private clubs, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t fantastic showers at public courses. The offerings at Erin Hills and Sea Island held up well against their private-club competition, the latter of which includes a steam room as part of the experience.
Scroll on for our ranking of the best showers in golf, which we compiled with the help of our 1,800+ course-rating panelists. Don’t see your favorite shower on our ranking? Leave a review on one of our over 17,000-course pages and tell us why it’s worthy of a spot on our next list.

Panelist review: “Incredible water pressure. A place you could spend an hour in. The shower heads are so large that it's hard to breathe when it's running at full volume.”

“Outdoor shower among lava fields and fountain grasses? Yeah, you can’t beat it. The whole shower area is luxurious and upscale. The water pressure is amazing. The lava-rock tile is a perfect touch. The best outdoor shower in golf.”

“Shower heads the size of sewer caps, plus pine-scented soap make this one of the best showers in the game. They have many of the same features as the showers at Merion, including incredible water pressure. The huge drains have their work cut out.”

“Best public showers in golf, which you need after walking eight miles! They are small but beautiful and have all the products you could possibly need. A large TV right in the middle is always showing the golf coverage, which is a great touch.”

"The amount of water per second is incredible and intense. They are quite modern and have a wide selection of toiletries."

"Showering at Castle Pines is like being in someone's mansion fit for royalty. There is even a steam room. Just plain luxurious."

"Buckets and buckets of hot water pouring over you. Similar to the showers at Friar's Head but more old school. Massive water flow and pressure."

"A classic design, just like the course. Extremely powerful and relaxing. It felt like it was washing away the terrible round I just had. Rumor has it that when Nick Price won the PGA there, he donated a club but asked for a shower head."
