‘NBA on TNT’ daggers Minnesota Timberwolves’ 7th-seed celebrations with highlight package set to “We Are the Champions”

Big news out of the basketball world on Wednesday: The Minnesota Timberwolves—yes, the same Minnesota Timberwolves that won 42 whole games the past two seasons—are going to the NBA playoffs. On Tuesday night, the T-Wolves knocked off Los Angeles Clippers 109-104 in their Western Conference Play-In showdown, earning the automatic 7th seed as a result. The win clinched the Timberwolves’ second postseason berth since 2005, and they popped the emotional cork to celebrate.

ANYTHING IS PAWSABLE! All jokes aside, you gotta feel good for the Wolves … unless of course you’re the internet, in which case you don’t have to feel good about anything.

We’d post more of the reactions, but they’re all variations on that same punchline. True to form, however, the 'NBA on TNT’ crew had the best knife twist of the evening, playing “We Are the Champions” over highlights of the T-Wolves' exhalations. Sound up of course.

Way to say it all without saying anything at all. The musical punchlines weren’t done there, though, with the crew later joking that they should have been playing “One Shining Moment” instead ...

Alright, alright. Pretty funny. We’ll give it to them. But will they still be laughing when the Timberwolves bounce their precious Ja Morant from the first round? TBD, but we can’t wait to hear what Queen song they’ll play then.
