Masters 2020: You'll never guess Dustin Johnson's favorite Masters tradition—because it's not really a tradition

November 10, 2020

"What's your favorite Masters tradition?" It's a question that's been asked many times throughout the years, but one that probably hasn't been answered quite the way Dustin Johnson did on Tuesday.

Did DJ go with the green jacket ceremony? Maybe the honorary starters? Or how about the Wednesday Par 3 Contest? Nope, none of the above.

Instead, Johnson's favorite thing about the Masters is. . . food? That's right, food.

"Favorite tradition," Johnson said before taking a long pause. "For me, I don't know if it's really a tradition, but my favorite thing about the Masters is the sandwiches."

When asked to elaborate which one, Johnson replied, "All of them." Boom. Nailed it. Check out the amusing clip:

Hey, he's not wrong. The sandwiches at Augusta National are legendary—especially the pimento cheese, although I prefer the chicken. But it's still a funny answer when asked about TRADITION at a tournament known as a TRADITION unlike any other.

Speaking of TRADITIONS, Johnson, one of the favorites to win this week, would love to get in on another one that comes with slipping on the green jacket: the Champions Dinner. As if he needed more motivation to win a major, he could serve all the Masters sandwiches he wants.
