Caddie dining at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am has a Chipotle and a massage room
It ain’t easy being a caddie. You’re the first one they blame and the last one to get the credit. You walk more miles than a beat cop and if your player's bananas aren't exactly the right amount of ripe, so help you God. Then, as if that weren't enough, when the tour arrives in some ritzy locale like Pebble Beach, you’re forced to split a room four ways to make ends meet, as we saw with Joel Dahmen’s looper Geno Bonnalie this week.
But make no mistake, there are some perks to the job. You make decent money. You can’t even spell “cubicle.” Sometimes you even show up to a tournament and find your own personal Chipotle waiting for you.
Those are the caddie facilities at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this week. In addition to the stunning coastline views, this week’s caddies also get carnitas (or plant-based chorizo, if that’s your thing) as far as the eye can see. When it’s time to wash it all down, there’s even a massage room to help with the digestion. File all of that under NTS (not too shabby).
Of course, a lot depends on what Chipotle tier these caddies are getting. Tier 1 Chipotle and it’s going to be great, walking on soft pillows of free guac all week along. If it’s one of these Tier 3 Chipotles, however, things could get ugly in a hurry. But hey, at least it’s not Taco Bell … especially when you’re splitting a room with three other guys.
