The 4-0 Buffalo Bills recreated the Fleetwood Mac “Dreams” challenge, now can we please be done with it

October 05, 2020

By now, you have to be at least tangentially aware of Nathan Apodaca (AKA @420doggface208 on Tik Tok) even if you don’t recognize the name. Apodaca went supernova viral early last week when he posted a video himself cruising on a longboard, sipping cran-raz straight out of the bottle while jamming to Fleetwood Mac’s iconic “Dreams.” Here’s his 15 seconds of fame, in case you were off planet for some much-needed R&R.

Since then, just about everyone under the sun with a rudimentary ability to ride a skateboard and an unabiding love for Ocean Spray cran (still the GOAT airplane beverage FWIW) has co-opted Apodaca’s joyride for their own, from Fall Instagrammers . . .

. . . to NAVY Seals . . .

. . . to Mick Damn Fleetwood himself.

But of all the tributes that have flooded our respective feeds over the past 10 days, none circles the wagons quite like the Buffalo Bills’.

The year is 2020 and Bills Mafia is very much a thing of the past, but the Bills’ social media team—buoyed by a 4-0 start to the season—has more than picked up the slack, turning in one iconic Monday after the next so far this season. I mean, do you know how hard it is to drink cranberry juice through a facemask while riding a longboard? Seriously asking, we have no idea.

Unfortunately, this probably won’t be the last version of the ol’ “Dreams” challenge we see. The internet loves nothing more than beating a beloved horse to death and beyond. But if by some miracle of human restraint (or the sudden arrival of an asteroid from space) this is truly the end, then it is a fitting final chapter to the year’s best viral saga.
