Just in time for the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Puma has released a collection of golf apparel and hats made from recycled materials. Teaming up with sustainable organization The First Mile, Puma sourced recycled yarn from plastic bottles to create the apparel in the line including golf shirts, T-shirts and layering pieces. According to the brand, it takes about three bottles to make one polo. The environmentally conscious golf line also features a whimsical print inspired by the desert party atmosphere we’ve come to associate with this Scottsdale-based tournament. Here’s a look at the First Mile collection, including a few pieces Puma athletes Rickie Fowler, Gary Woodland and Emiliano Grillo are expected to wear this week.

The golf shirts and T-shirts in this collection feature the whimsical Phoenix Open-inspired print in a tonal allover pattern that’s subtle and stylish. The print includes palm trees, coyotes and beer mugs among other desert party essentials across the shirts. As a fun detail, the pattern is reflective and will illuminate when met with a flash of a camera or headlights. The golf shirt ($75) has a relaxed, athletic fit and a comfortable amount of stretch in the polyester recycled fabric.

Similar to the golf shirt, the First Mile Flash Golf Tee ($50) comes in gray or green and features the allover flash-activated print. It’s a versatile top that brings some personality to an T-shirt ensemble. The Five Mile fabrics are collected from plastic bottles found in Haiti, Honduras and Taiwan that are sorted, cleaned and shredded to be transformed into this durable and comfortable top. In the process, the organization focuses on responsible plastic collection, creating sustainable jobs, reducing environmental waste and developing products with a purpose like these.

The First Mile Flash Golf Quarter-Zip ($80) is a bit quieter in design but still has a reflective detail at the zipper tape and a sustainable build. It’s partially made with First Mile recycled polyester but is blended with traditional polyester to enhance its performance qualities.

This wind jacket ($100) is made with 100 percent recycled polyester and is designed to perform in a variety of conditions. It’s wind-resistant, has UPF 50+ sun protection and is moisture wicking to keep you protected from the elements and feeling fresh. The two-toned jacket is complemented by contrasting zippers and arm cuffs for an easy-to-match-with and stylish layering option.

On the ladies side, the Women’s First Mile Wind Jacket ($90) is available in black, white or navy with a diagonal white stripe. The packable jacket is lightweight, has timeless styling and environmentally responsible materials to feel good about wearing.

Puma is also releasing a women’s P Cap ($30) that is extra-fun. The green hat is covered in the First Mile Collection desert pattern and a 3D embroidered “P” logo. Designed specifically for women, the structured cap has a pre-curved visor, a moisture-wicking sweatband and is made with 100 percent recycled materials.

Similar to the women’s version, the Desert P Snapback Cap ($35) is also made with 100 percent recycled materials and features the whimsical Phoenix Open-inspired print. It also has a special edition seam tape to celebrate the event and is available in green or gray.

The Cactus P Snapback Cap’s ($35) cactus embroidery design is an ultra-stylish way to show your support of the Phoenix tournament and sustainable initiatives. The design is reflective, similar to the prints on the T-shirt and golf shirts that’ll glow when hit with light. Also made entirely with recycled materials the slightly curved visor is casual, stylish and a great way to enhance any look.

Puma has become known for releasing limited edition golf bags ahead of select tournaments that are designed to wow and this stand bag ($499) is no different. The green and yellow leather bag is bold, made with premium materials and features the desert print as a reflective hit on the side panel.
