Friends Helping Friends

Odell Beckham Jr. got a painting of Odell Beckham Jr. helping up Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr. is a tough guy to figure out. He’s not your typical diva wide receiver. Sure, he's more or less forced his way out of two teams and is currently without one, but he’s also displayed vulnerable human moments throughout his career, fought through multiple serious injuries, and has been scapegoated and vilified just about everywhere he’s gone for [waves arms wildly] reasons. So yeah, he’s not as simple as he seems on the surface ... but now that that’s out of the way, you should probably see this.

Needless to say, commissioning a painting of yourself helping up yourself might be the most diva wide receiver move since T.O. did crunches in his driveway. It takes serious ego to get a regular portrait of yourself, like the kind coal patriarchs and oil magnates used to hang above their 12 fireplaces. To get one with two of yourselves on it, working together like Riggs and Murtaugh to take down the cruel world and emerge one, true hero, well, that’s not just off the charts, it’s on a chart we didn’t even know existed yet. Oh, and check the glint on that Super Bowl ring. That says pretty much says it all.

Best of all, however, is the fact that this yet another hilarious, unsolicited potshot at the Browns, who are reaping the just rewards of all the shit they’ve sown over the past 18 months this week. OBJ’s little oil pointing is hardly a drop in that cosmic ocean of pain, but every little bit counts.
