Giannis Antetokounmpo chowing down on wings during his postgame press conference is going to make you really want wings
Giannis Antetokounmpo is the reigning NBA champion and Finals MVP. He’s a former league MVP and one of the most athletically gifted players the game of basketball has seen since Hakeem Olajuwon, maybe even Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. But there is one thing the freakiest Greek still doesn’t get enough credit for:
Being a fast-food god.
After clinching the Bucks’ first NBA championship in 50 years with 50 points this summer, Antetokounmpo made headlines by celebrating with a Chick-fil-A 50 piece the following morning, washing the whole thing down with a large half Sprite, half lemonade, no ice. It was a victory meal fit for Zeus himself.
But for a fast-food guru like Antetokounmpo, flash fryer therapy plays an equally important role after a loss, as evidenced on Wednesday night when Giannis showed up to his post-game press conference following an ugly loss palming a Spalding-sized bucket of Quaker Steak & Lube wings.
The elbows-off-the-table crowd might find this rude, but don't hate the player, hate the game. Wings are no good cold and even worse reheated. When they come out of the fryer, it’s a now-or-never situation, and Antetokounmpo came up big in the clutch, devouring his meaty morsels while still fielding questions like a pro. In fact there was only one real statistical downside to Giannis’ performance on Wednesday:
He didn’t save any for us.
