Corales Puntacana 2020 odds: This Korn Ferry Tour player will get a ton of attention this week

The PGA Tour’s swing season includes the Corales Puntacana Resort Championship for the third straight year, and though this week isn’t a major and doesn’t include the game’s elite players, there’s intrigue at this fall season event.

Someone other than Bryson DeChambeau who made a name for himself at Winged Foot is Korn Ferry star Will Zalatoris. It was the 24-year-old’s second-ever major, but he finished T-6 in a field of the world’s best players to secure an invite to next year’s U.S. Open. And he’ll look to continue his play in Puntacana, where he earned a sponsor’s exemption into this week’s field. Zalatoris won this year at TPC Colorado, which tips out at nearly 8,000 yards from the tips. And this week is one of the longest courses the PGA Tour plays at all year, with Puntacana Resort & Club’s Corales course tipping out at almost 7,700 yards. So Zalatoris—who has 11 consecutive top-20 finishes or better on the Korn Ferry Tour, a record—has been pinned as a co-favorite this week.

Another favorite, Mackenzie Hughes (20-1), finished T-2 here last year, and is coming off a successful 2019-’20 season in which he made it to the Tour Championship. Hughes missed the cut last week at Winged Foot, as did co-favorite and fellow Canadian Corey Conners (14-1).
