Watch Dustin Johnson get absolutely robbed of an albatross
On a Thursday filled with great scoring at the CJ Cup, Dustin Johnson's two-over-par 74 stood out like a priest on the Las Vegas strip. After all, the two-time major champ had gone a perfect 5-0 at the Ryder Cup the last time we saw him. But it didn't take long for him to look like the World No. 2 again on Friday.
After parring his first two holes, DJ poked a 322-yard drive down the middle on The Summit Club's 605-yard par-5 third. And then he hit a laser with a fairway wood that came as close as you can come to making an albatross.
Have a look at Johnson getting absolutely robbed by the flagstick:
OK, so maybe "absolutely robbed" is a bit strong because that thing was coming in hot. But still, that could have gone in for the same price as David Feherty likes to say.
After settling for a tap-in eagle, Johnson has continued to climb the leader board some 30 spots, playing his first 11 holes of the second round in six under at the time of this post. Yeah, looks like that post-Ryder Cup rust has worn off.
