Nike surprised us with another U.S. Open-themed drop that taps into that '90s street feel—but it's selling out quickly. With vibrant, unmistakable colors, these new Nike Air Max 1 '86 OG golf shoes dropped ahead of the first round at LACC along with a few apparel pieces and accessories to match. Much like the brand's newly announced, U.S. Open-Inspired Jordan Retro 6 G NRG Golf Shoes, which were just released today, these new Nikes have an undeniable LA street-style look and feel. These on-course cool kicks feature the iconic Air Max window design that lets you peek at the large air unit underneath—which, in addition to modern styling, offers maximum comfort and energy return during the swing. The design stays true to original Air Max 1 styling with, clean lines and no-sew overlays that provide the perfect canvas for bold colorways and vibrant pops of color.

Neon pink and green cover the shoe and are offset by a black-and-white paint splatter pattern across the midsole and laces. A custom graffiti design reading "Nike Golf" alternate across the right and left heel, tongue and outsole. It's a departure from the original Nike Air Max that Tinker Hatfield designed in 1987 with a simplier red and gray palette, but proves the timeless shoe can be a hit in any color combination. The Air Max 1 was the first shoe to visibly display the shoe's Air unit that provides comfort and energy return, in addition to tech-y styling. Air Max sneakers and the more recently popularized golf shoe versions are known for providing the utmost comfort and have become a staple in the style world both on and off the course.

Part of Nike's NRG limited-edition release line, these U.S. Open-inspired golf shoes are uniquely LA with an electric colorway that maintains a casual cool look with nods to the street art the City of Angels has become known for. As expected with Nike's limited-edition golf drops, certain sizes are already selling out, so if you're looking to brighten up your shoe collection, run don't walk.
