Save for later

Victor Perez played the role of Jordan Spieth better than even Jordan Spieth on Friday at Oakmont. The 32-year-old Frenchman's wild ride on Day 2 of the U.S. Open included a hole-in-one, a snowman, and a flying chest bump.

Let's start with the snowman, a triple-bogey 8 on the par-5 12th, Perez's third hole of the day. That mess could have derailed a lot of players, but not Victor. Instead, he nearly hit for the cycle.

Perez made birdies on 16 and 17 before adding another at No. 5. And then on the 192-yard sixth, he did this:

It's not often you see both a "1" and an "8" on the scorecard. Hats off, Victor.

That's obviously one heckuva golf shot, but we might be even more impressed by the celebration. A flying chest, well, stomach bump? With caddie James Erkenbeck? Most tour pros can't even pull off a simple high-five.

From there, Perez finished his round with three pars. Boring. But add it all up and it was a great round of even-par 70 that currently has the three-time DP World Tour winner in the top 10.
