What excuse will you be using this year? Soar throat? Termite guy coming to spray? In-laws are in town? It's best to prepare now so that when the opening days of the 122nd U.S. Open are underway, you'll have everything lined up with your boss so that you can enjoy uninterrupted coverage of play from The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.

Needless to say, you really do need to try to set up a plan to avoid distractions this week as NBC Universal brings viewers more than 45 hours of live coverage from The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.

NBC Universal will use its cable arm, USA Network, and its streaming service, Peacock, to show 100-plus hours of golf from Brookline, including “traditional” tournament action as well as Featured Groups and Featured Hole coverage from all four rounds. On Thursday and Friday, you can see all the action from the first tee shots at sunrise to the final putts falling in the gloaming.

Below is the listing of the live TV schedule and the schedule for alternative coverage being offered through various online streaming services.
