The Timberwolves are reviving one of the greatest NBA uniforms ever
We are smack dab in the heart of football hype season. We 1000% understand if you don't have the bandwidth for anything other than AP Top 25 analysis, PPR sleepers, and betting your house on Cleveland Browns over/unders. But bear with us for like two minutes, because on Thursday morning the Minnesota Timberwolves—admittedly not the most attention-grabbing NBA franchise here in 2018 AD—took Twitter to announce something really, really awesome:
The return of their iconic late '90s/early aughts uniforms OH MY GOD SOMEONE DRAG KEVIN GARNETT OUT OF RETIREMENT PLEASE.
"Classics" is an understatement. These black beauties are arguably a top-five NBA uni all-time and the pinnacle of Y2K-era jersey design (sorry Raptors fans). Thankfully for us, the T-Wolves, who just rolled out a total redesign last year, were smart enough bring these bad boys back to celebrate their 30th year of NBA action. The uniforms, which features some small updates like a 30th anniversary logo design, will be worn for five games this season, beginning Halloween night, when the Wolves take on the Jazz at the Target Center.
If the harvest moon is up over Minneapolis that night, god help us all.
