Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts, Jeffrey Lurie join Barack Obama for star-studded golf outing
The Philadelphia Eagles are SO BACK. After some early season wobbles and drama swirling around head coach Nick Sirianni, da Birds have rattled off three straight wins, including a big 37-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. They’re even racking up dubs on their off days, with stars Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts, plus owner Jeffrey Lurie, spotted playing a round of golf with the one and only Barack Obama on Tuesday.
Obama has assembled quite the roster of A-list golf buddies over the years—from Jordan Spieth to Coach Cal and beyond—but even a Cowboys fan would have to admit this is up there with the very best of them. Obviously where they played (and what they shot) were kept closely under wraps, but a quick look at the best courses in and around the Philadelphia area may give you some hints.
Best of all for Eagles fans, however, is the fact that everyone emerged unscathed. Hurts told reporters this summer that Mr. Lurie asked him not to pick up the game of golf—“funny story, I’ll tell you another day,” Hurts said—but the Wednesday practice reports indicate no strained hamstrings or aching elbows for the Eagles’ signal caller. With a very winnable game against the Jaguars on the way this week, the Eagles will want to make sure they care of business before two NFC East clashes against the Cowboys and Commanders to start November.
