RBC Heritage odds 2022: Justin Thomas the favorite in stacked Harbour Town field
Andrew Redington
The first post-major event of the year is among the hardest to handicap for golf bettors. Will a few big names withdraw? Should you jump on guys now before that happens and the odds get slashed? Are the guys who didn't play the Masters a better play because they are "well-rested"? Tough calls all around.
As of now, you can only go off what the odds board says, and right now it says that Justin Thomas is the solo favorite in a stack field for the 2022 RBC Heritage at Harbour Town. Thomas, fresh off a T-8 at the Masters, is 12-1 to win, one point lower than Collin Morikawa, who shot a five-under 67 on Sunday at Augusta National to finish in solo fifth.
Next up is Cameron Smith, who checks in just ahead of Dustin Johnson. Both have fine history at Harbour Town, though Smith has the only top 10 between them.
Patrick Cantlay, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Shane Lowry, Corey Conners, Daniel Berger and Webb Simpson fill out the rest of the top 10 on the odds board. Simpson packs the most intrigue at 30-1 at some sportsbooks. He's coming of a so-so 35th at the Masters, and he has finishes of ninth, first, 16th, fifth and 11th in his last five trips to Hilton Head.
