Ahead of the Open Championship, Puma released an eye-catching capsule in collaboration with London print house Liberty. Using archival prints inspired by those in the over-100-year-old company’s archives, the line features a blue and green botanical pattern blooming across golf shoes, hats and apparel for both men and women. Here’s a look at the Puma Golf X Liberty collaborative collection, available now.

As with many Puma limited-edition collections, the shoes lead the line in style and versatility. Remixing the men’s Ignite Elevate golf shoe and women’s Ignite Malibu shoe, both feature the flora and fauna print across the heel and outsole of the shoe. The men’s version is primarily white with a gold accented Puma logo on the side for a quietly-sophisticated finish. With green lining the midsole and inclusion of the print on the tongue of the shoe, the navy women’s version was given a sportier and youthful upgrade for this collab.

The men’s apparel line includes the print in an all-over fashion on golf shorts and a polo, along with quieter pops of the blooms on two eucalyptus-green tops that complement the dark pattern expertly.

"For this exclusive collaboration of golf wear, shoes and accessories, we hand-selected an elegant trailing botanical from the Liberty archive,” said Pere Bruach, Liberty Senior Designer. “Colored with warm hues of reds, greens and blues to reflect Puma’s avant-garde style, we wanted to bring a contemporary twist to a traditional Liberty tree of life design with ornamental leaves and stylized blooms."

All featuring full-patterned designs, the women’s collection consists of a sleeveless polo, quarter-zip pullover and skirt. Designers alternated between large versions of the print on the pullover and micro-print iterations on the skirt and polo, displaying the versatility of the pattern and giving golfers a little more room to play with scaling fashion prints in on-course looks.

“This collection is where golf meets art and fashion,” said Mike Diaz, Marketing Director, PUMA Golf. “It’s a true fresh take on casual-lux, which mirrors the nature of The Open Championship. This is a prestigious showcase for course-ready elegance with authenticity to the host city, Liverpool.”

Great to match with the apparel pieces or to be worn on their own to enhance a simpler look, the collection produced three caps—a reversible bucket hat, women’s visor and men’s baseball hat.
