Masters 2022 odds: Jordan Spieth's Open runner-up puts him in a familiar position at sportsbooks

After a glorious stretch of seven men's major championships in 11 months, golf fans have to wait 263 days until the next one. Just typing that makes us sad, but that doesn't mean it's not too early to think about April at Augusta National.
Sportsbooks certainly are already with 2022 Masters odds in place. And following a runner-up to Collin Morikawa on Sunday at the 2021 Open Championship, Jordan Spieth finds himself in a familiar position at the top of the board.
At Westgate Superbook, the three-time major champ is listed as a co-favorite for the April 7-10 event. Spieth, who won the 2015 Masters, also has two runner-ups and two third-place finishes in just eight starts at Augusta National.
Spieth currently shares favorite status at 10-to-1 odds with World No. 1 Jon Rahm, who is also coming off an impressive performance at Royal St. George's. In his first major start since winning his first major at the U.S. Open, Rahm finished T-3. Here's a look at these updated odds:
Spieth, who opened at 60-to-1 to win the 2021 Masters while mired in a slump, had previously been listed at 12-to-1 to win next year's tournament. Also getting a slight bump was Morikawa, who moved from 25-to-1 to 20-to-1. The 24-year-old finished T-44 and T-18 in his first two career Masters starts.
Defending champ Hideki Matsuyama is currently 30-to-1, while 2020 winner Dustin Johnson checks in at 12-to-1. Brooks Koepka (14/1), Rory McIlroy (16/1), Justin Thomas (16/1), Xander Schauffele (18/1) and Bryson DeChambeau (20/1) round out the favorites.
Five-time Masters winner Tiger Woods, who is still recovering from a February car crash, is 60-to-1. Three-time Masters winner and reigning PGA champ Phil Mickelson is 100-to-1.
So go ahead and place your bets. You're just going to have to wait for a long time. A very long time. Sigh.
