The Swede with the flawless swing needed a flawless tee shot to make his second PGA Tour title a reality. Coming off a stretch of three birdies in five holes, Ludvig Aberg addressed the Titleist Pro V1x ball on the par-5 18th hole at Torrey Pines South and unleashed his best drive of the day with a 9-degree Titleist TSR2 driver that soared into the stratosphere and came to rest 318 yards in the middle of the fairway.

The drive turned out to be the longest poke of the day on the closing hole.

Aberg found the back of the green from 243 yards, setting up a two-putt birdie to secure a one-shot win over Maverick McNealy at the Genesis Invitational.

The hole perfectly encapsulated Aberg's week: every club in the bag was working on a demanding (and soggy) Torrey Pines layout.

A forged, dual-cavity design supplies a tour-like look in an iron everyday single-digit handicappers can play. Super-dense D18 tungsten (1.5 times heavier than lead) in the heel and toe foster super-charged stability and improved feel. Coordinating with the company’s wedge designers brought a softened chamfer in the trailing edge of the sole for better turf interaction. Using a CNC face-milling process helps create more control and consistent ball flight, especially from the rough. The stock shafts are slightly lighter in the long irons to help make them easier to swing. Top 5 in Performance, middle-handicaps SPECS: 7-iron: 34 degrees; PW: 46 degrees

Aberg finished inside the top 20 in every strokes category with a Titleist-heavy setup that included two drivers—Aberg played three rounds with GT2 before switching to TSR2 for the final round—T100 irons and Vokey SM10 wedges.
