Why We Like It
- A forged, dual-cavity design supplies a tour-like look in an iron everyday single-digit handicappers can play.
- Super-dense D18 tungsten (1.5 times heavier than lead) in the heel and toe foster super-charged stability and improved feel.
- Coordinating with the company’s wedge designers brought a softened chamfer in the trailing edge of the sole for better turf interaction.
- Using a CNC face-milling process helps create more control and consistent ball flight, especially from the rough.
- The stock shafts are slightly lighter in the long irons to help make them easier to swing.
- Top 5 in Performance, middle-handicaps
- SPECS: 7-iron: 34 degrees; PW: 46 degrees

If i wanted to hit it low I could and distance was not affected regardless of the trajectory. They did what i wanted. What else can you say? They are fantastic clubs.

The feel is super soft, but the ball shoots off the club. I didn't lose distance anywhere. It was one of the longer clubs I hit. Just effortless. I could do the Xander Schauffele pause at the top of my swing and get the club down very easy. Never once did I feel like I had to hit ball really hard. It gave me confidence to move ball at will.

It's a great looker but the head just didn't feel as responsive as I'd like. Mis-hits were relatively on line but shorter. I wish the sweet spot was bigger. It was forgiving but I couldn't get that pop out of it.

The lack of forgiveness stood out. Center strikes were fine but the slightest miss was penalized. I got a nice mid-to-high trajectory and a predictable small draw, but it gave no confidence in the ability to shape it any other way. It got through the turf really well. Everything felt like solid ball-first contact.

Overall, a very consistent club. It's almost like a tank, but it's manageable. Gets through the turf, produces a higher ball flight and the ball keeps going and going. It gets your attention in a good way. The head feels heavier than most, but it's a good swing weight to get you through the shot. That boom that you hear is almost like a sonic boom.

It has a very nice compact head. It's almost intimidating behind the ball, but that also forces you to concentrate on delivering the club correctly. It was a little hard and stiff on off-center hits, not quite forgiving. That said, good hits produced consistent results. For me it was a high draw.

Even though it looks like a true pro's iron, it's easy to hit. You can shape it left or right and it's as smooth as you'd want. It's easy to hit, but you lose a little distance. Still, the control is there.

Wayne

Even with the smaller face, I felt more confident hitting it. It had really good performance overall and the mis-hits still gave me nice distance. It's a forgiving club even if I didn't think that going in. It launched the ball high and almost always on the same trajectory. Never felt like it ballooned up.

Alan

I heeled and toed some pretty badly but it still performed. It doesn't try to do too much and the forgiving tech is there.

Wherever I hit them on the clubface, it produced that great sound with great workability and performance. I could work it left or right or up and down. There's nothing this club couldn't do. It had softer feel, too. You got that pure, piercing sound off the face every time. They launched higher but you didn't sacrifice distance.

I really enjoy looking at this club. There's nothing distracting about it and I like the ratio of everything. I really appreciate the way it interacts with the turf. It doesn't take much at all to really cut through the grass. The mis-hits off the toe seem to fly just as high and almost as far as a center hit.

Paul

I found this to be a true tour-player iron. It's for someone who doesn't make mistakes. A fantastic club when you hit it properly, but the mis-hits were noticeable from the shakiness of the club at impact to the lack of distance. The head shape is very appealing.

Robert

Thought these were a bit louder than others. The look is great with the thin topline and it frames the ball well. Turf interaction was good but it did grab a little on heavy shots. I wish there was a little more workability, but it's hard to argue with a straight ball flight.

Peter

It really feels good and the ball jumps off the face. It's not harsh but not overly soft, either. What you see is what you get and your swing determines the feedback. I got more of a distance advantage in the long iron and more accuracy. Very reliable, consistent performance from these clubs.

Jack

It has nice curves to the toe and the heel—a traditional-looking iron that would fit in well at the country club. It cuts through and gets down into the turf and sends the ball high. If you're a low-ball hitter that's trying to get something up and need a little drop and stop, this is a great fit.

Custom look but the face was really hard. It doesn't feel like a soft or forged face. I struggled with getting enough feedback to know if the strike was solid or not.

It's in that Goldilocks' zone. It's just right. Very consistent in its flight. Distance control is dialed in more than others. A touch of a high launch. I don't mind, but I did struggle to keep it down. Nice forgiveness in a player's iron. Performs well enough on a just off-center hit. You get more than you should out of it.

The hollow-body construction and a thinner, more flexible cupface (in which the face wraps around part of the sole and topline) on the 3- through 5-iron provide more ball speed and a higher launch to enhance distance.
The remaining irons have a 1025 forged-carbon-steel face insert designed for precision, accuracy and repeatability in the clubs where distance isn’t as crucial.
The company’s urethane microspheres within the body of the long irons control vibration, enhance feel and allow the face to flex for maximum distance.

The single-piece forged cavity-back is more compact than the P·770.
Cavities in the sole are milled out, allowing for tungsten (up to 11 grams) and a slug of lightweight metal-matrix composite to be inserted to lower the center of gravity.
The metal-matrix composite is one-fifth the density of the surrounding steel. This allows for more perimeter weighting and ultimately forgiveness.
