Kelly in Vegas on her bowl season leans, our best bets for The Match and the best gambling movies of all time, ranked

    December 08, 2022

Like any real-deal handicapper, Kelly Stewart, better known as Kelly in Vegas, likes to get in her football bets early. Closing-line value, ever heard of it?

The one time of year you can screw yourself on CLV, however, is Bowl Season, especially now that opt-outs are becoming the norm and more and more players are entering the transfer portal immediately after the regular season ends. That team you got at -3.5 when the schedule came out might end up being a six-point underdog by kickoff, which is never a good sign. Stewart has already gotten in one early bet on her Alma Mater, Kansas State, against the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl on New Year's Eve. How could she not with the vibes as good as they are fresh off an epic Big 12 Championship win, where Stewart obviously lost her voice from screaming so loud for her Wildcats:

Fortunately, KIV got her voice back just in time to join as our guest on this week's episode of The Loop podcast, where she shared her favorite leans for Bowl Season and the College Football Playoff, and dished out some of her best betting tips for the novices out there. Stewart has been doing this a long time and knows what she's talking about, as evidenced by her starring role in "Action," a four-part documentary series on Showtime that explores the legalization of sports gambling and its impact on the gambling community.

We also chatted a bit about The Match under the lights, set to take place this Saturday at Pelican Golf Club. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are a slight underdog against Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, and there a number of fun prop bets that caught our eye. Plus, we ranked our top five gambling movies of all time, from "Uncut Gems" to "Mississippi Grind" to a Keanu Reeves classic that you may not have realized is a gambling flick.
