John Daly buries a three in flip flops on the first take as everything continues to come up Arkansas

September 21, 2021

In case you haven't noticed, there are some seriously good sports things happening at the University of Arkansas these days. This past March, the basketball program made its first Elite Eight since 1995, and it appears like coach Eric Musselman will make them a consistent NCAA Tourney contender. The football program, which had become the laughingstock of the SEC since Bret Bielema was fired in 2017, is off to a 3-0 start to the 2021 season under second-year head coach Sam Pittman, which has them ranked in the AP Top 25 for the first time in nearly five years.

On top of all that, John Daly's son, Little John, has already signed his letter of intent to play golf in Fayetteville next fall, following in his father's footsteps. Daly, a two-time major champion, was a Razorback himself, playing on the golf team from 1984 to 1987.

This week, Big John and Little John stopped by campus for a visit, and "ran into" Pittman and Musselman, as well as a few members of the Hogs' basketball team:

Father and son also stopped by an actual basketball practice, too, and Big John appears to be very proficient on the catch-and-shoot. Here he is, in flip flops, making it rain on the first take (according to him):

*Mike Breen voice* BANG!! BANG!! DALY DRAINS IT FROM DOWNTOWN!!

We're going to take Daly's word for it that this was first take, because why the hell wouldn't it be? Some people on this earth just have a sense for the big moment, and Daly is very much one of those people. Everything is coming up Arkansas. Woo Pig.
