With “Happy Gilmore 2” on the way, it’s high time for Adam Sandler golf content. We at Golf Digest have done what we can with updates from the set, mini-golf with Shooter McGavin and inside looks at the casting process, but that all pales in comparison to this Sandler Reddit story.

A few lucky golfers made the trek to one of Golf Digest’s top-ranked courses and didn’t just get some great golf but some Hall-of-Fame company.

“One of my friend’s buddies went to Cabot Cape Breton for a weekend trip and was paired with a single golfer,” the r/golf post reads. “At the tee, they found Adam Sandler waiting for them! They said he was super cool, and at checkout at the end of the trip, they learned that he had covered their entire weekend tab.”

The post has since been deleted after blowing up online with nearly 1,400 upvotes and more than 80 comments. Always gotta keep watch for any positive Sandler news. Just keeps on piling up.

Getting a round in with Sandler would be a dream come true, and yet the comedy legend (and renowned mensch) went a step further and covered the entire tab. What a guy! Sandler might have a net worth in the hundreds of millions, but Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs aren’t cheap and this certainly wasn’t expected of him.

Another sensational Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw design, Cabot Cliffs overflows with variety with its southernmost holes in Lahinch-like sand dunes, its northernmost atop Pebble Beach-type ocean cliffs and bits of pine-lined Scottish Highlands in between. The course has six par 5s, including three in the space of four holes, and six par 3s, plus an additional one-shot bye-hole aside the fourth. Sporting the same fescue turf mix as nearby sister course Cabot Links (ranked 25th), some tee shots seem to roll forever, but so do errant shots that miss greens. The cliff-edged par-3 16th has become one of the game's most photographed holes.

It seems like every Sandler anecdote is about how he’s kind of just a regular guy who happens to be insanely famous and wealthy (and funny, of course). The man will show up at a random basketball court and just jump on. It looks like he’s no different when it comes to teeing it up.

We have so many questions. Did he try out his trademark run-and-gun Happy Gilmore swing? Were there any side bets involved? What’s Sandler’s trash-talk game like?

Those answers might not be coming anytime soon, but we do know that Sandler is a swell guy. We also know there’s a non-zero chance that the next time you’re paired with a single, it will be Sandler. Good luck out there.
