Happy Gilmore's Boston Bruins jersey worn by Adam Sandler sold for an eye-popping price earlier this week. Or, maybe it's not so eye-popping. After all, we're talking about the jersey worn by Sandler in the iconic film. A film that's been back in the news a lot of late with Netflix's sequel in the works.

We've heard from Christopher McDonald, AKA Shooter McGavin, about the project and we've learned how you (yes, YOU!) can audition for a role in the film. But unfortunately for you, a pretty cool piece of golf memorabilia is off the market.

That's because Happy's actual Bruins jersey sold at auction on Thursday. First, here's a look at the listing.

In case you're wondering, "screen-matched" just means it's been officially determined that a prop was used in the meaning. In other words, it's LEGIT. That $5,000-$10,000 estimate, however, was way, way off as it wound up selling for $40,950.

That's a lot of money for a hockey jersey, but again, this is Happy Gilmore we're talking about. And with the sequel bound to generate even more buzz around the original, this piece of memorabilia should age like a fine wine. Congrats to the buyer.
