The Greek Freak
Giannis Antetokounmpo talking about getting “freaky” on his birthday while holding a giant Homer doll is your unhinged NBA moment of the week
We’d like to start by wishing Giannis Antetokounmpo a very happy birthday. As of Tuesday, December 6th, The Greek Freak is 28 years old. So how does a two-time MVP, NBA champion, and Wisconsin sports hero celebrate such a momentous occasion? Well, he was asked exactly that by reporters on Monday, and as it turns out, it's nothing too extravagant. A slice of cake, a card—maybe a watch. Oh yeah, and if he’s really lucky, maybe he gets, um, lucky.

Predictably hilarious from the eccentric soundbite machine, but two big things here really up the weird factor. The first is Antetokounmpo’s Greek accent, which is like some erotic cross between Pepe Le Pew and Mario. The next is the big yellow elephant in the room:
The giant stuffed Homer doll sitting in his lap.
But don’t worry, when Antetokounmpo talks about getting “freaky,” he's not talking about introducing Homer to his wife as their third. The Bucks were in Orlando this week and teammate Sandro Mamukelashvili won the Simpsons plush at Universal Studios. Apparently he left it behind in the locker room, so Antetokounmpo swiped it to bring home to his kids.
