Dual-Sport Athlete
18-year-old U.S. Open champ Emma Raducanu has a pretty darn good golf swing
If we told you the newly minted women’s U.S. Open champion has a good golf swing, you might think “well duh.” But we’re not talking about golf. Nor are we talking about Yuka Saso. We’re talking about tennis and 18-year-old Brit Emma Raducanu, who put together one of the most unforgettable runs in recent memory in Flushing, Queens earlier this month.
There she defeated fellow teenager Leylah Annie Fernandez in the women’s final to claim her first grand slam title, making her skill on the hardcourt known all across the world. What still remains a secret, however, is that golf swing we told you about, which made its Twitter debut on Tuesday. Check it out.
Not bad, not bad at all, especially the takeaway, which is as pure as it gets. If she can put in a little work and get the rest of her swing as tight as her forehand, we might just have a dual-sport athlete on our hands. That won’t be too surprising for anyone who follows the exploits of the multi-talented Raducanu on social media, however, where she has posted about everything from her motocross exploits …
.. to taking a lap around Silverstone in a McClaren at this year’s British GP.
Needless to say, slow play won’t be an issue.
