Scottie Scheffler is the World No. 1 golfer, a fact that has only been backed up this week at the British Open. But according to one of his best friends on the PGA Tour, Scheffler also might be the best a trash talking on the golf course.

Three-time major champ Jordan Spieth spent a good four minutes talking about his pal following his final round at Royal Portrush. He praised him for his golf game. He praised him for being such an "unassuming" superstar. And he praised him for his "good bullshit."

Spieth was happy to talk about his fellow Texas Longhorn, but he really lit up when talking about their non-competitive rounds away from tournaments. That sound like they might get even more competitive than PGA Tour events.

"When I see him, I'm at the golf course. I see him here and there off the course, but when we're playing on the course at home, he shit talks," Spieth said. "He's very witty. You can't really go at him because he's smart, and he's got good bullshit."

Good bullshit. Love that. Spieth was then asked to elaborate what Scheffler says to him.

"I mean, it's not necessarily just to me," Spieth said. "It's normally the other people that we're playing with. But yeah, not that I want to say it—I'm not going to quote him on that kind of stuff. But then when a tournament starts, he's incredibly competitive, as you see."

You can watch Spieth's complete comments on Scheffler below. As Normal Sport's Kyle Porter notes, they're "really good."

Just like Scottie is. Both at talking on the course—and backing it up.

Is it the British Open or the Open Championship? The name of the final men’s major of the golf season is a subject of continued discussion. The event’s official name, as explained in this op-ed by former R&A chairman Ian Pattinson, is the Open Championship. But since many United States golf fans continue to refer to it as the British Open, and search news around the event accordingly, Golf Digest continues to utilize both names in its coverage.
