That Was Close
Brandon Aiyuk came inches from ending this photographer's chances of having children
From the Griddy to the Antonio Brown-inspired "put that sh-t" on to the good old-fashioned bowling pins knockdown, it's never been a better time for touchdown celebrations in the NFL. Yet still, the simple "throw the ball toward the stands and hope it doesn't hit anyone" continues to stand the test of time.
The thing is, it usually hits someone, and it's almost always an unsuspecting someone, thus making the pain that much worse. On Monday night, that unsuspecting someone was a photographer just trying to capture San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk's second touchdown of the evening, and he nearly paid the ultimate price for it. What's the ultimate price, you ask? The ability to have children, obviously:
The closest of close calls. They say football is a game of ... never mind.
By the way, this was mostly just a Brandon Aiyuk appreciation post. His breakout season is upon us:
SHEESH. That was TD No. 1, and this was celebration No. 1:
We're guessing Aiyuk will stick with the drop-the-ball-and-dance celly going forward. All photographers and videographers should still keep their heads on a swivel just in case.
