- Setting: Any area where you can hit medium-length chips (up to 20 yards). A practice green is ideal, but this drill can also be done in many backyards.
- Materials: Two sticks (alignment rods or golf clubs), your preferred wedge for greenside chips, at least one golf ball.

- Stand in one location just off the green.
- Starting from the edge of the green, place the first stick (or alignment rod, or club) two paces from your ball. Place the second stick another pace away to form a one-yard target.
- The goal is to land your ball in the one-yard gap. Once you hit that gap, move the sticks one yard further away, and repeat.
- Keep track of how many times you can hit the one-yard gaps consecutively.
- When you miss a gap, start over.
