“One of the more challenging courses in the southern Utah area but very playable and fun. Incredible views and elevation changes. Bentgrass greens and fairways provide a different feel in this area. Very forgiving off the tee but challenging second shots with well protected greens with run offs and bunkering. This course has incredible shot variety, with a wide range of drivable par 4’s, reachable par 5’s and the par 3’s give you a different look across the board. The back nine provides an incredible back drop of the mountains to give you a great way to close out your round on a championship style course."

“The original vision of Copper Rock has unfortunately not matured as it was intended to be a large golf and real estate resort project. But slow homesite and condo sales seems to have had a negative impact on the conditioning and overall upkeep of the golf course. The clubhouse and resort hotel continue to be delayed to some point in the future. Dale Beddo led a team of architects who designed this course and debuted in 2020. Built on what used to be a piece farmland nestled against of rock outcropping large enough to be a small mountain, it is one of the five best courses in St. George but not at the level of Sand Hallow or Black Desert. The front nine is fairly flat but some well positioned bunkering and taking advantage of the few elevation changes produce some interesting holes. Conversely, most of the back nine does meanders up and down in what some cases are severe climbs and drops. The 9th and 18th holes smartly mirror each other around a lake with the 9th being a slight dogleg right and the 18th a slight dogleg left, both to an elevated shared green. One of the more dramatic holes is the par 4, thirteenth with the second shot a sharp drop over some trouble to a narrow green."

“A very solid layout. Requires a little bit of everything to score. Take on as much as you want. A big difference from back to front tees. Borderline too big a difference."

“A fun desert course, greens vary in size, shape and alignment. There are some long putts if you miss judge your approach shot."

“A fun and scenic desert course, the greens were varied in size, shape and orientation, which makes them challenging and with three putts prevalent."

“Pleasant course in very rural area of Hurricane. Generous fairways with some challenge in the green complexes. Good conditions, though some areas are not fully grown in, even though the course is four years old. Greens are true but not fast. Only a couple of unique holes. Mostly straight holes without too much elevation change."

“Pleasant track in the desert, though is is more of a parkland layout. Generous fairways, and hidden challenge around the greens. Conditions were about average for the area. Greens were true but not fast. Reasonably fun."

“Course has a mixture of good and bad holes (especially on the back 9 with extreme elevation changes). For only $75 more, can play nearby Black Desert which is much better and also includes drinks and food on the course in the green fee. The green fee at Copper Rock is too high for the lower quality of the golf experience."

“Course has a mixture of some good holes (especially on the flatter front 9) and some bad holes (especially on the back 9 with extreme elevation changes). Course conditioning is only fair, while esthetics are diminished by nearby condos and homes."
