Overview
The nine-holer just 30 miles west of Chattanooga is probably the buzziest nine-hole course in the U.S. Designed by King-Collins and now with financial backing by prominent golfers such as Peyton Manning, Sweetens Cove offers numerous alternative routings, allowing the course to be played several ways. The laidback atmosphere defies country-club tradition and encourages players to wear whatever they want—even allowing golfers to bring their dog along for the round. The course itself features generous fairways and massive, undulating greens that reward imagination and creativity.

“Sweetens Cove has been polished up over the last few years after adding some high profile owners to the mix. The parking lot is still gravel and the shed still the shed, but there have been many improvements that greatly improve the experience. The large practice green adds pre and post round fun/competition. Extensive drainage work has been installed to help it play firm and fast more often. If you have played links golf in Scotland or Ireland, this course will seem familiar. Be open minded and try shots you've never tried on the course before. This is the place to do almost whatever you want!"

“Given the land they were presented with, Rob Collins and Tad King did an excellent job creating a fun and enjoyable course for all. Only 9 holes but each green has two pins (one for each 9 hole loop). Best advice is to get a day pass and spend all day playing out here w/ a group of buddies."

“It's fun, architecturally interesting, and focuses on the best parts of golf. Been a pleasure seeing the growth at the club since I first started visiting in 2016. Can go alone or with a group. Will always meet a receptive crowd."

“9 hole gem with incredibly challenging green complexes and bunkering that provides great diversity in how each hole can play w/ the different tee boxes"

“An experience for sure. Your day starts off with the golf professional giving a brief history of Sweetens Cove. You have the option to start your day off with a shot of Whiskey. The golf course offers several different tee boxes and also has two flags on each hole. This allows you to play the course several different ways. I played 27 holes and found myself not keeping score but rather just enjoying the course, surroundings and experience. The day I played there were about 50 golfers out on the course. We never waited and didn't hold anybody up either. With no food service, I ordered food from the Domino's Pizza and had it delivered. That is part of the experience. I was happy to do so. The golf course conditions was fine. The experience is what makes Sweetens Cove special. A hole hole golf course with multiple tees and two flags on each hole. Play as 4, 6, 8 or whatever floats your boat! Order food or bring it with you. Play music and have fun. That is Sweetens Cove."

“This is an unbelievable nine hole golf course. The strategic options on this course are wonderful and make you think. The green complexes are the closest thing to Pinehurst #2 or The Old Course you can get for an affordable price. The course has a cool vibe about it and you feel as though you are playing a special secret golf course in the hills of rural Tennessee. Go to this course and enjoy."

“Wonderful! Great design, excellent greens complexes. No amenities though. It's all about the golf course."

“I truly don't get the hype. The greens are way over the top. It is a nice diversion but that is all. The conditioning was poor and the clubhouse is a trailer. That GOLF WEEK has it in its top 100 Modern is very puzzling."
