Overview
Renovated by Gary Player in 2017, Cougar Point reopened as a brand-new marshland course design at Kiawah Island Resort. Generous fairways and vast greens coupled with risk-reward par-5s and abundant water hazards make this golf course extremely playable. Plus, you’ll undoubtedly spot a gator or two.

“The stretch of holes from 2-6 are full of shot options and playing variety. For me, the par 3’s all stood out as unique and challenging. Great re-design of the finishing hole that incorporates a challenging water feature off the tee. Course was full of character and very playable for all levels."

“In my belief.. this is definitely one of GP best designs. A truly stunning piece of property which they framed appropriately with a golf course. They were able to utilize some great Live Oaks and ponds in a natural flow that felt like it was supposed to be that way. outstanding routing. This course will not get the praise of the Ocean Course but it definitely belongs as a must play while visiting Kiawah Island."

“Wonderful views on 4/5/6 adjacent to the Kiawah River, and a decent effort utilizing interior water features and sand, but the routing dictated by the residential priority limits aesthetic potential. Moderately good shot option features, but often from quirky angles and shorter distances. Exceptional conditioning throughout, but the moderate length and routing limits the Challenge and Character scoring. Overall... an incredibly enjoyable course, moderate challenge, decent interior esthetic features, three exceptionally scenic holes and great conditioning throughout."

“Fun golf course with some great risk reward holes. More room in the playing corridors than some of the other courses on the island. Nice clubhouse and bar."
