Overview
TPC River Highlands has a long history hosting the annual Travelers Championship on the PGA Tour, dating back to 1984, when Pete Dye redesigned nine of the existing holes (formerly Edgewood Country Club). Then one of Dye's former associates, Bobby Weed, returned in 1989 to not only renovate the existing course but add holes as part of a newly built home-development project, one of the first of its kind. Weed has continued to return to renovate the course over the years, including most recently a substantial bunker project in 2016.

“Great conditioned golf course. Really a nice treat to play where the pros play a tournament. They have done a great job with the tee boxes so you get to play similar holes, even though the pro hit the ball so much further Really enjoyed the variety of length and shape of the holes. Such a treat to get to play here!!!"

“An annual PGA Tour venue for the popular Travelers Championship, TPC River Highlands is a classic course outside Hartford CT renovated in the 1980s by Pete Dye and Bobby Weed. The front 9 isn't that memorable, but the back certainly is, with many hilly holes and the final four surrounding a large lake. The 15th hole is one of the most fun short par fours I've played. This is a fun course to play and then watch the Pros play."

“This is one of the most fun courses I've played in the TPC Network. If you are lucky to get a tee time here, I wouldn't pass it up. From the proper tees, this is a great test. There are some intriguing holes on the front nine, but the course is best from holes 14 to the finish."
