Avondale Golf Club
Pymble, New South Wales, Australia • Private
Overview
In the 19th century this former racetrack was owned by Homer B. King. King's red barn and old horse stable is still on the golf property to this day being one of the oldest structures in the northwest of Australia. Throughout the 20th century, ownership was passed around until 1963 when it officially became Avondale on Hayden. Originally designed to be a 12-hole layout, Avondale became an 18-hole course. The flagship hole is the ninth, providing vistas of Avondale Lake. The course is challenging yet enjoyable to play while being emersed in the history of the land.
