Overview
An underrated course among the best in the Sand Belt, Woodlands benefited from work by Alister MacKenzie’s partner, Alex Russell, in the mid-1930s. Russell designed the current 11th, 16th and 17th holes. Mike Clayton and Harley Kruse are the current architects overseeing design tweaks. Tom Doak, who did work here in the early 2010s, called Woodlands’ 15th hole one of the best par 5s in the world.
