Woods' agent denies IMG-Stanford Financial connection

February 19, 2009

Tiger Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg of IMG, has denied a New York Post story today that accused IMG of accepting millions of dollars from Stanford Financial Group in exchange for recommending that its clients invest with the company.

"Steinberg... called a report in today's New York Post about a financial connection between the two companies 'complete fiction' and 'completely irresponsible,'" Bloomberg is reporting.

The Post's story said, "that IMG quietly agreed to steer clients looking for investment advice to Stanford Financial Group, potentially exposing them to millions of dollars in losses resulting from the financial firm's alleged fraud."
