Brutal golf course fight produces one of the most gruesome mugshots you will ever see
We’ve seen countless golf scuffles, rumbles, dust-ups and brawls over the years. Most of the time we can point and laugh and say things like “honey come here, look at these idiots!” but every now and then a fight crosses the line from “stupid” to “criminal.” This is one of the latter.
Around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, Wichita police officers responded to a fight at Arthur B. Sims Golf course. When they arrived, they found 52-year-old Scott Denning looking like a bad Picasso portrait after sustaining a gruesome facial injury in the chaos. According to reports, Denning approached a group of three men to apologize for an errant shot that landed near them. At some point that apology turned into an argument and that argument into a full-blown brawl. Denning is said to have knocked one of the three men, aged 38, unconscious, and took off after a 28-year-old and 52-year-old wielding a golf club as, well, a club club. Denning reportedly struck the 52-year-old in the head with the club, but as his jaw-dropping mugshot makes clear, he took the worst of the damage to his own coconut.

Don’t say we didn’t warn you. Denning was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being turned over to police on Saturday morning for charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, assault, battery and criminal damage. Denning remains in police custody as of Tuesday. No word has been released on the status of the swelling, but given the mugshot seen above, there’s a non-zero chance he’s now the real-life version of Two Face.
Jokes aside, we hope everyone heals up and that everyone faces (ahem) just punishment for their roles in the fight ... sorry, sorry, we couldn’t help ourselves.
