Travelers Championship odds 2022: Rory McIlroy a slight favorite over World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler

Nine times out of 10, the World No. 1 who is coming off a runner-up finish in a major championship is going to be the favorite in the very next tournament he plays. But, as we all know, Rory McIlroy is one helluva drug.

McIlroy, who picked up his latest "disappointing" T-5 in a major at the U.S. Open on Sunday, is a slight favorite over Scottie Scheffler at this week's Travelers Championship. Of course, he also did just win the RBC Canadian Open, which factors into his price.

The Northern Irishman is 9-1 to win in Hartford at the BetMGM Sportsbook, with Scheffler checking in right after at 10-1. At a number of other books, they are co-favorites.

Justin Thomas (12-1), Patrick Cantlay (16-1), Sam Burns (18-1) and Xander Schauffele (20-1) round out the top of the board. Jordan Spieth, a former winner of this event, is 25-1.
