Dustin Johnson poses with the trophy after winning the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in 2020 in Cromwell, Connecticut.

Being positioned the week after the U.S. Open, and a wild one at that out at Torrey Pines, might be considered a liability for the next stop on the PGA Tour. But don't tell that to officials with the Travelers Championship, who embrace their spot on the tour calender and have a strong field set for this week at TPC River Highlands. The tournament boasts five of the top-10 golfers in the World Rankings: Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Patrick Cantlay and defending champ Dustin Johnson.
DJ's win at Travelers in 2020 was the first of three victories, and helped propel him toward his FedEx Cup title later in the summer. Johnson shot a 61-67 on the weekend, beating Kevin Streelman by one shot despite bogeys on his final two holes.
Two-time Travelers champ Phil Mickelson also will be returning to Cromwell, Conn., this week. After winning in 2001 and 2002, Lefty took a 15-year absence from the event but ultimately returned in 2019 and played again in 2020.
The winner of this event will receive 500 FedEx Cup points and a $1.332 million share of the $7.4 million purse.
