PGA Championship 2024: 'Do you ever f---ing work?': The time Tiger Woods chirped Michael Block from the bushes

Take a scroll through Michael Block's Instagram page and you'll see that the man has had himself a YEAR. Everybody and their mother wanted a piece of the 2023 PGA Championship folk hero after his performance at Oak Hill, and he was more than willing to give it to them on some advice from golf fanatic and music industry legend DJ Khaled.
"He [DJ Khaled] told me not to say no to anything," Block told us on The Loop podcast. "Just keep going and go hard at it for as long as you can. And I've done that."
He certainly has. Whether it be a partnership with fast food chain Raising Cane's, a 100-hole hike in Pebble Beach or yet another podcast appearance, the 47-year-old club pro has said yes to everything and enjoyed every minute of it. The moment his overnight fame really hit him, though, came the week he played in the World Wide Technology Championship, which was held this past November at Tiger Woods' El Cardonal golf course in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. During a pre-tournament event, Block got randomly chirped by Woods himself, then later watched Jack Nicklaus use his putter to hole a winning putt.
"I was over a shot, it was a charity event, and I was over a sand wedge on the first hole and he [Tiger] was hiding behind a bush in a golf cart," Block said. "I didn't even know he was even there, and I just hear somebody while I'm over the shot go 'do you ever f---ing work?' And I hit it and I turn around and there's Tiger sitting in the golf cart smiling. And I'm like, you gotta be kidding me right now."
The lesson here is never say no to anything, because you might end up getting chirped by Tiger Woods and then watch his fellow GOAT, Jack Nicklaus, hole a putt to win with your Odyssey two-ball. Of course, you have to have a heroic week in a major championship to make it all possible first. There's that.
