The Tiger Effect?

Interesting (if probably unsurprising) nugget in this Sunday piece about high-end home sales in Western North Carolina: On Nov. 9 the Cliffs at High Carolina hosted Tiger Woods on the site of his first U.S. golf course design, and developer Jim Anthony (pictured walking with Woods) said he'd sold about 50 lots that day with a total value of $40 million. Five months later, Buncombe County records show that only 25 sales have gone through, totaling about a $25 million, the Asheville Citizen-Times reports.

Actually, when you think of everything that's happened to the economy since Nov. 9, it could have been a lot worse ...

(FYI, the paper quotes Anthony as saying a few more of those Nov. 9 sales are still pending.)
