This starter introducing Hideki Matsuyama made the biggest bogey of the week at the BMW Championship

Golf fans were treated to a birdie binge for the ages at the 2021 BMW Championship, but there was one bad bogey you probably didn't see. Considering everyone in the field finished under par for the second leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, you could almost argue this was the only bogey of the week. And fittingly, it didn't come from a player.

Instead, there was a pretty funny first-tee starter fail involving Hideki Matsuyama. The guy working the mic pronounced the Japanese star's name correctly and even gave proper respect to him for being a reigning major champ. He just got which major wrong.

Have a look as Matsuyama, the current Masters champ, is presented as the "Current Open Championship winner," prompting a chuckle from Hideki:

Hey, we've seen/heard worse from first-tee starters. And the "next year" line was great—so we'll give him credit for a bounceback birdie.
