Shriners Hospitals for Children Open 2020 odds: Bryson is back—and he’s a massive favorite

The award tour for U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau is over, as he returns to action this week for the first time since his win at Winged Foot. Oddsmakers have made him a massive favorite (7-1) at the 2020 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, where he won in 2018 amidst a stretch of four wins across 11 official starts worldwide.

The last time DeChambeau was this heavy of a favorite? A few months ago, when he won the Rocket Mortgage Classic as a 7 ½-1 favorite. That, of course, was against a much weaker field, as the field at this week’s Shriners is the strongest we’ve seen since the U.S. Open.

Eight of the world top 20 will be in Las Vegas at TPC Summerlin for the first of two consecutive weeks in Sin City (next week’s CJ Cup has been relocated to Shadow Creek from South Korea). The highest-ranked player in the field is not DeChambeau—it’s PGA Championship winner Collin Morikawa, all the way down the odds board at 22-1. That’s a big price break between the two most recent major winners. A bit higher up is Patrick Cantlay (18-1), who has owned this event—winning in 2017 then finishing runner-up the past two seasons, including a playoff loss to Kevin Na (80-1) last year.

Here are the odds for every player in the field (as of Monday morning) for the 2020 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
