Scottie Scheffler shares why he had to apologize for his Masters Champions Dinner

Scottie Scheffler will have the honor of whipping out his checkbook in April once again when he hosts his second Masters Champions Dinner. But while that menu hasn't been released, we're pretty sure of one item that will NOT be served.

Last year, Scheffler hosted the special night and he delivered a menu that seemed to tick all the boxes. Who doesn't love a warm chocolate chip skillet cookie? But as he shared earlier this week on Barstool Sports' Pardon My Take podcast, there was one part that caused his fellow players off guard—in particular, the old guard.

"So most of the older guys are on my left side and they bring out the soup," Scheffler tells hosts Big Cat and PFT Commenter.

Now, you'd think old guys would love a good bowl of soup, but this one? Not so much.

"Everybody sits down and they start eating it and it was unbelievably spicy," Scheffler continues. "And all the old guys on the left side of the table started coughing and like looking over sweating. They're all looking at me like, 'Dude, what are you doing?' Like I didn't know it was going to be spicy. I'm sorry, guys."

Anyway, check out the funny clip here:

To be fair to the old guys, it wasn't just them who found the tortilla soup too spicy. Last year, 2016 Masters champ Danny Willett said he ate it, but that he looked over at Scottie and asked, "If he was trying to kill us."

Hey, it wouldn't be the dumbest thing to do if you're looking to get an edge up on the competition. But Scheffler doesn't need any help these days. The World No. 1 should be a heavy favorite once again come Masters Thursday. No matter what he serves at Augusta National that Tuesday.
