I'm A Peacock, You Gotta Let Me Fly
The reaction videos from the Saint Peter's viewing party will fill your heart with March Madness joy
The beauty of March Madness is that even if your school isn't in it, even if your bracket is BUSTED after Day 1, and even if you've lost the mortgage on Gonzaga -22.5 (prayers up, that was some bulls--- at the end of that game), you can still find joy in the inevitable mega upset that happens at some point in the first 48 hours.
Late Thursday evening, we got that upset in the form of 15-seeded Saint Peter's stunning No. 2 seed Kentucky in a 85-79 overtime thriller. The Peacocks, an 18.5-point underdog, had never won an NCAA Tournament game in program history, having appeard three times previously and losing each one. Finally, though, the 'Cocks flew:
The only thing better than the win, and that A+ "The Other Guys" pull (still the most underrated comedy in film history), was the viewing party reaction videos from Jersey City, N.J., where Saint Peter's is located. Here's a sampling:
This is, quite literally, what it's all about, folks. Pure electricity. Side note: has there ever been a song in the history of winning better than "All I do is win"? The answer is no, no there has not. Whoever was DJ-ing this shindig needs a raise.
Pray for Kentucky.
